Just like Sam Hicks did during his life, the Samuel S. Hicks Memorial Fund is all about "giving back" to the youth of the Scottdale community and its surrounding areas. As the Fund continues to grow, the goal of the board of directors is to continue to increase donations and contributions to area youth groups and various community activities.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our supporters and contributors. Following is a snapshot of the donations made since the Fund was started in 2009:

Samuel S. Hicks Memorial Merit Scholarship Award

Hicks Memorial Scholarship.

Scottdale Police Department

Fred Street, a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper, had a great impact on the law enforcement career of Sam Hicks. It was only fitting that Street was the person who presented a check from the Memorial Fund to the Chief of Police at the Scottdale Police Department.
